Dream Kitchen

A kitchen renovation is an investment in the aesthetic, functionality, and value of your home. But it can be an expensive undertaking and the inconvenience of being without a kitchen for weeks on end can weaken anyone’s resolve. The secret sauce is who you hire to do the job.

A good contractor can alleviate your concerns by keeping the project both on budget and on schedule. And a great contractor will do those things plus be receptive to your design ideas. It was this perfect blend between client and contractor that cooked up the delicious kitchen shown here. '

Designer Aaron Mach of Empire Custom Kitchens & Countertops of Buffalo, New York, said his client knew what she wanted from the start, which made his job easier. The homeowner “had a good sense of what she wanted, and she came to me, and we worked together on it,” he said. The homeowner agreed that she came to Empire with a vision of her dream kitchen, “but they were amazing at how they executed it,” she said. “I love, love, love it!”

To achieve this modern farmhouse-style kitchen, a large island anchors the sleek, white shaker cabinets that line the perimeter of the room. The dark gray, wood-grained finish on the island is a high-end laminate. And the quartz countertops and backsplash behind the stainless steel range add an element of sophistication while still being practical for everyday use.

The telltale farmhouse ingredients are the large, white ceramic farm sink with chrome gooseneck faucet and the wood flooring, while the sleek black pendant lighting, black cabinet pulls, and black leather bar stools add a dash of modern.

Breaking the rules, a bit, the layout of this kitchen isn’t the standard triangle arrangement between the sink, range, and refrigerator. Instead, all the prep and cleanup work can be done from one side of the island while floor-to-ceiling cabinets provide ample storage for all the food staples on the other side of the island. The homeowner opted for drawers for the lower cabinets, which allow for improved organization and access of cookware. Glass panels on a few of the upper cabinets provide opportunity to add a splash of color using decorative items.

No Fuss No Muss

The best part, the homeowner said, was how quick and painless the whole process was. Empire worked efficiently to get the job done, checking up on the project daily, she said. There were no delays because something didn’t ship, and there was no miscommunication between the designer and fabricator. “We understand people don’t want their kitchen in disarray for any longer than it has to,” Mach said. Empire prides itself on its reputation to deliver on time, listen to their clients, offer excellent customer service, and stand behind its quality work and product.

“This company is amazing,” the homeowner said about Empire. The kitchen turned out amazing, too.
