Ethan Allen Showroom Helps Customers Visualize Room with Technology
When customers visit the Ethan Allen showroom in Victor, New York, they receive more than complimentary design services. They can also see their selected furnishings in replicas of their actual homes.
Through specialized software, the interior design staff creates personalized 3D renderings, based on measurements, pictures the customer provides, or a real estate listing of the home.
“We differ from other showcase furniture stores in that our design services are complimentary, including the computerized design,” said Selma Hammer, one of the showroom’s several interior designers. She studied interior design at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and like the other designers, is committed to working closely with clients to create rooms that are functional, spatially appropriate, and aesthetically pleasing.
Not only can designers determine how a couch and table will fit into a room, they can also help customers choose paint colors, fabrics, and accessories to complete the look of each room they wish to furnish.
“It’s easier to communicate with the client and get it right through images,” Hammer said. “They can give us an idea of what they want, and we’ll work with them from there. It’s pretty amazing to be able to curate a customized design completely virtually. We are here to solve problems and enhance lives, not just sell furniture.”
